Privacy Policy

Effective September 4, 2026

Updated September 4, 2026: we've replaced a vague line about not using your information for anything else with a plain list of what we actually send to your email address, and added one thing to it: an occasional note about the service, a few times a year at most, which you only get if you tell us you'd like it. We ask once, in a receipt after a visit. If you've never been asked, you're not on it. Nothing else changed.

Updated August 15, 2026: two changes. Photos you send us are now deleted automatically 30 days after you send them, rather than being kept for up to 90 days. And if you arrive from one of our own advertisements, we now record which one — worked out on our own systems, never sent to anyone, and explained in full below. Nothing else changed.

Menswood is an in-home personal care service based in Sacramento, California. This policy explains what information we collect through menswood.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted. It's written to be read by our clients, not by lawyers.

Questions about anything here: (916) 838-6031 · support@menswood.com.

This service is for adults. Our site and services are intended for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

What we collect

When you fill out the service trial questionnaire

We ask for the physical details so we can tell you which services make sense for you and roughly what they'll cost, and so we can set aside the right amount of time and product. We ask for your phone number so we can get back to you. Please don't include medical, health, or diagnosis information in the special instructions — we don't need it and we'd rather not hold it.

When you book and pay

Photos

If you send a photo with an inquiry, we store it privately with Cloudflare and use it only for the purpose you gave it to us for. We do not use client photos for marketing, advertising, social media, or our website unless you give us separate written permission first, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

Photos are deleted automatically 30 days after you send them, and sooner if you ask us to.

Automatically, when you submit any form

We record this so we have an accurate record of when a request came in, so we can stop spam and automated abuse, and so we have something to refer to if there's ever a question about a booking. We don't use it to build a profile of you or to follow you around the internet.

Basic visit statistics

We count visits to the site so we know how many people come, when, which pages they look at, and which service categories they open. This uses a random ID that lives only for your browsing session and is discarded when you close the tab — no cookie, and nothing that can follow you to another website. We also convert IP addresses into an approximate city so we can see which areas we're reaching; this is regional only, is frequently wrong on mobile networks, and is never used to locate an individual.

Why we collect it

What we send to your email address

The occasional notes are the only thing on that list you have to say yes to, and the only thing you can turn off. Every one of them has a link at the foot of it that stops them the moment you open it — nothing to fill in, no sign-in, and nobody to speak to.

Stopping them changes nothing about your appointments. Your confirmations, reminders and receipts carry on exactly as before. They are kept apart from each other in our systems on purpose, so a preference about the one can't quietly switch off the other.

We don't sell or rent your address, we don't hand it to anyone advertising anything, and we never send you something on behalf of another business. If you'd rather hear from us by phone or not at all, tell us and that's what we'll do.

Who we share it with

We share information with a small number of companies we need in order to run the business. They're only allowed to use it to provide their service to us.

Beyond that, we share information only if we're legally required to — a court order, a subpoena, or a law enforcement request we're obligated to honor — or if we need to in order to defend ourselves in a legal dispute with you.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We never have and we don't intend to.

How long we keep it

WhatHow long
IP address, browser type, and referrer attached to a submission12 months from submission, then automatically erased
Which advertisement or link you arrived on, attached to a booking12 months from booking, then automatically erased
Visit statistics (session ID, page, approximate city)12 months
Trial questionnaire from someone who never books12 months, then deleted
Client records (name, contact details, address, service history)While you're a client, and 4 years after your last appointment
Payment and tax records4 years, as required for accounting and tax purposes
Photos30 days from the date you send them, then automatically deleted. Sooner on request.

We delete on this schedule as a matter of routine. We keep as little as we can for as long as we need it, and no longer.

Tracking, cookies, and Do Not Track

How to see, correct, or delete your information

Use this form — or email support@menswood.com — and tell us what you'd like:

We'll respond within 30 days, and the form will give you a reference and the exact date we've committed to. We confirm your identity first — usually by calling the phone number already on your record — so we don't hand your information to someone else, and so nobody can use the form to erase yours.

Two things we can't delete: records we're legally required to keep, like payment and tax records, and information we need to resolve an open dispute or complete a booking already in progress. If either applies we'll tell you exactly what we're keeping and why.

You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and we'll stop.

How we protect your information

We use encrypted connections across the site, we keep card data off our systems entirely by routing it to Stripe, we limit access to client records to people who need it to do the work, and we delete data on the schedule above. No system is perfectly secure, but if there is ever a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by California law.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change — to what we collect, why, who we share it with, or how long we keep it — we'll post the updated policy here with a new effective date and note at the top that it changed. The current version is always at menswood.com/privacy.
